Information for visitors

If you have been accused of a road traffic offence this may result in you having to attend Weymouth Magistrates Court.  Normally, you will be told to attend either a morning or afternoon session   Even if you attend at the requested time you may still have a very long wait before your case is called.  This is because Weymouth Magistrates Court is in the habit of dealing with criminal allegations of a different type before it hears the road traffic cases such as yours.

When you arrive at the court the security staff will check your bags.  After this has taken place you should make your way to speak to the usher at the main reception desk.  They will take your name and the details of your solicitor who is attending.  You should then take a seat in the main waiting area where your solicitor will come to meet you.
