There is no parking at Yeovil Magistrates Court but just opposite there is an offsite pay and display car park.

WHAT TYPE OF CASES DOES YEOVIL MAGISTRATES COURT DEAL WITH?

Yeovil Magistrates Court caters for a wide variety of criminal matters.  By far the most common matters it deals with are motoring offences.  These may be  offences for which you can’t go to prison for example, driving while using a mobile phone, speeding, careless driving, and driving with no insurance.  They may also be imprisonable offences, for example, failing to stop after an accident, drink driving, drug driving, or dangerous driving.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AT YEOVIL MAGISTRATES COURT?

There is no specific dress code for attending court.  First impressions do, however, count and the court prefers someone to be smartly dressed.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE AT YEOVIL MAGISTRATES COURT?

You should arrive at the court 30 minutes before your hearing time.  Go up the stairs and through an “airport like” security.  Here you will have to go through a security arch.  Please notify staff if you are wearing a pace maker.  Your bags will be searched. Then please go to the reception desk and give your name.  You will be told which courtroom your hearing will take place in.
